2016 Lansdowne Arts on the Avenue Festival
Noon – 6 pm
Lansdowne’s Favorite Event Just Got Bigger and Better!
The Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) is proud to present the Lansdowne Arts on the Avenue Festival on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Starting at noon through 6 pm, Lansdowne Avenue will become a pedestrian-only thoroughfare between E. LaCrosse and Baltimore Avenues. Centered in the heart of our historic downtown, this new and exciting street festival is expected to draw more than 2,500 people for a full day of music, makers, craft brew, food trucks, and more. This year’s event grew out of the Lansdowne Arts Festival, a perennial favorite in Lansdowne.
Pop-up Beer Garden
The team from Conshohocken Brewing Company will be on hand to pour throughout the day. This new regional brewer crafts IPAs, Imperials and more. We’re delighted to have them join us to share their “fresh, high-quality beers with the good people” in Lansdowne.
This year, over 30 local makers will sell their wares along Lansdowne Avenue. Festival-goers can look forward to one-of-a-kind creations, demonstrations by the artists, and more. We’ll have ceramics, photography, wood and sculpture, painting, drawing, jewelry and mixed media.
Avenue Restaurants and Shops
Many of the restaurants and shops along Lansdowne Avenue are slated to open their doors to festival visitors throughout the day and into the evening. Look forward to spots for alfresco dining along the avenue as well as food and drink specials, too. Popular spots include The Avenue Deli, Regency Café, and the Icery. Other nearby restaurants will be setting up outdoor booths and several food trucks are planned as well.
YMCA Kids Zone
One of the many new features this year will be the YMCA Kids Zone in the parking lot at 30 N. Lansdowne Avenue. The Kids’ Zone will include an inflatable obstacle course, bouncy house, jugglers, musicians, free arts and crafts and many more free activities tailor-made to keep your little ones happy.
Sights and Sounds Under the Music Tent
There will be two music tents – one manned by a DJ and one with live music. Throughout the day, attendees can experience the diverse range of sounds performed by talented local artists in the Music Tent. This year’s notable musicians include: Reel to Reel; Hinton, Bower, Jones; Me3; Bob Beach remembers DC Fitzgerald; the Lansdowne Symphony Quartet; and Minas. Featured genres include traditional Irish music, roots/folk/acoustic, Brazilian festive music and jazz, folk and classical genres, and more.
